Firekeepers Workbook - Inters 3

Firekeepers Workbook - Inters 3

Firekeepers Workbook is a Bible-based discipleship and life-skills workbook designed for older children and teenagers who are ready to engage with deeper questions of faith, identity, purpose, relationships, choices, and the world around them.

Building on the foundations of the earlier Inters levels, Firekeepers takes students further into biblical understanding and practical Christian living. The workbook is designed not merely to teach biblical information, but to encourage students to think, question, reflect, discuss, apply and develop a faith that shapes everyday life.

The workbook is divided into two complementary sections: MAIN Bible Topics and NOTW – Not Of This World.

MAIN BIBLE TOPICS

The first half explores foundational Christian truths through the broad themes of Identity, Purpose and Destiny. Students explore topics including:

The Bible – God's Word and Absolute Truth • Biblical Calendar vs Gregorian Calendar • The Nature of God – Mercy & Omnipotence • Jesus: I AM the Door • The Person of the Holy Spirit • Being Led by the Spirit • Called & Chosen • The Family of God • Forgiveness & Healing • Freedom in Christ • Faith & Doubt • Worship • The Kingdom of God • Evangelism • The Parable of the Talents • Reign with Christ • Good Friday • Resurrection Sunday • Pentecost • Christmas

Each MAIN Bible lesson includes:

  • Main Topic & Sub-topic – A structured exploration of an important biblical theme.
  • Verses to Remember – One Old Testament and one New Testament verse highlighting the central truth of the lesson.
  • Related Reference Verses – Additional Scriptures for further study and personal exploration.
  • Main Lesson – Biblical teaching organised around Identity, Purpose and Destiny.
  • Key Takeaways – Foundational truths for students to understand, remember and apply.
  • Practical Applications – Specific, achievable steps for putting biblical principles into practice.
  • Word of the Week (WOW) – A key word or concept to reflect on throughout the week.
  • Home Devotionals – An activity-based devotional experience using reflection, journalling, questionnaires, doodles and thought-provoking statements.

ITW BUT NOTW!

“Be in the world, but not of the world.”

The second half of the workbook is NOTW – Not Of This World, a section designed to connect biblical faith with the real-world issues, choices and challenges teenagers encounter.

NOTW encourages students to examine topics through three perspectives:

World Says – What does the wider culture say about the issue?
I-Say – How might a teenager personally experience or respond to it?
God Says – What does the Bible teach about it?

The NOTW section covers topics including:

Romantic Relationships • Self-Esteem • Addictions, Substance Abuse & Pornography • Eating Habits & Fitness • Online Safety • Music: Listen to What You Listen To • Time Management • Think About What You Are Thinking About • Career Choice • Teamwork • Government – Daniel in Babylon • Culture & the Bible

Each NOTW lesson includes:

  • NOTW Lesson – A practical exploration of a real-life issue from cultural, personal and biblical perspectives.
  • World Says / I-Say / God Says – A framework that encourages students to examine cultural messages, personal experiences and biblical truth.
  • Quote of the Day – A meaningful and thought-provoking quote.
  • Verses to Remember – One Old Testament and one New Testament verse connected to the central message.
  • Related Reference Verses – Additional Scriptures for further study.
  • Key Takeaways – Important truths to understand, remember and apply.
  • Practical Applications – Small and realistic steps students can take.
  • NOTW Statement – A memorable statement designed to become a personal declaration and, where appropriate, something to share.
  • Discussion Questions – Questions that encourage conversation, reflection and critical thinking.
  • Home Devotional Activity – Journalling, questionnaires, doodles, reflection prompts and other activities to continue the conversation throughout the week.

Faith that connects with real life

Firekeepers is designed to help teenagers take their faith beyond the classroom.

The MAIN Bible section addresses foundational questions about God, Scripture, the Holy Spirit, identity, calling, freedom, faith, worship, evangelism and the Kingdom of God.

The NOTW section then brings these foundations into areas teenagers actually encounter — from romantic relationships, self-esteem and digital culture to pornography, health and fitness, music, career choices, teamwork, government and culture.

Students are encouraged not simply to accept information, but to think biblically, examine ideas, ask questions, reflect on their own choices and discover practical ways to live out their faith.

The result is a learning experience that connects Scripture with identity, faith with decisions, and Christian discipleship with everyday life.

Ideal for:
Church Sunday schools • Teen Bible studies • Christian schools • Youth groups • Homeschooling • Family discipleship • Children's and youth ministry programs
