Firebuilders Workbook - Inters 2

Firebuilders Workbook - Inters 2

Firebuilders is a Bible-based discipleship and life-skills workbook designed for older children and teenagers who are ready to engage more deeply with Scripture, faith, identity, relationships, and the challenges of everyday life.

Building on the foundations of the earlier levels, Firebuilders encourages students not only to learn biblical truths but to think critically, understand God's character, discover their identity and purpose, develop spiritual maturity, and apply their faith to real-world situations.

The workbook is divided into two complementary sections: MAIN Bible Topics and NOTW – Not Of This World.

MAIN BIBLE TOPICS

The first half explores foundational Christian truths under the broad themes of Identity, Purpose, and Destiny. Students explore topics including:

The Bible – God's Word and Absolute Truth • Biblical Calendar vs Gregorian Calendar • Names of God • I AM Statements of Jesus • The Fruit of the Holy Spirit • Sanctification • Forgiveness, Righteousness & Holiness • Soul, Mind, Will & Emotions • The Vine & the Branches • Prosperity • Knowing & Understanding the Enemy • Discipleship • The Word • John the Baptist • The Forerunner's Role • The Sword of the Spirit • The End of the Earth • The End of History – His Story • Good Friday • Resurrection Sunday • Pentecost • Christmas

Each MAIN Bible lesson includes:

  • Main Topic & Sub-topic – A structured exploration of an important biblical theme.
  • Theme Verses – One Old Testament and one New Testament verse highlighting the central message.
  • Related Reference Verses – Additional Scriptures for deeper study and personal exploration.
  • Main Lesson – Biblical teaching organised around Identity, Purpose, and Destiny.
  • Key Takeaways – Foundational truths for students to understand, remember, and apply.
  • Practical Applications – Simple, actionable steps for putting biblical principles into practice.
  • Word of the Week (WOW) – A key word or concept to reflect on throughout the week.
  • Home Devotionals – An activity-based devotional experience incorporating journalling, reflection, questionnaires, doodles, and thought-provoking statements.

ITW BUT NOTW!

“Be in the world, but not of the world.”

The second half of the workbook is NOTW – Not Of This World, a practical section that connects biblical faith with the real issues teenagers face.

NOTW encourages students to look at important topics from three perspectives:

World Says – What does the wider culture say about the issue?
I-Say – How might a teenager experience or think about the issue?
God Says – What does Scripture teach about it?

The NOTW section covers topics including:

Friendships & Peer Pressure • Anxiety & Stress • Bullying & Sarcasm • Self-Image, Lies & Insecurities • Digital Addiction & Gaming • Food Habits, Health & Fitness • Fashion & Clothing • Academics & Excellence • Social Etiquette • How to Pray for Your City & Nation

Each NOTW lesson includes:

  • NOTW Lesson – A practical exploration of a real-life issue, drawing together cultural perspectives, a teen-centric view, and biblical truth.
  • World Says / I-Say / God Says – Three perspectives that encourage students to examine cultural ideas, personal experiences, and Scripture.
  • Quote of the Day – A meaningful and thought-provoking quote.
  • Theme Verses – One Old Testament and one New Testament verse that anchor the topic in Scripture.
  • Related Reference Verses – Additional Bible references for further study.
  • Key Takeaways – Important truths to understand and carry forward.
  • Practical Applications – Small, realistic steps students can take in response to what they have learned.
  • NOTW Statement – A memorable statement designed to become a personal declaration and, where appropriate, something to share.
  • Discussion Questions – Questions that encourage conversation, reflection, critical thinking, and deeper understanding.
  • Home Devotional Activity – Journalling, questionnaires, doodles, reflection prompts, and other activities to continue the learning during the week.

A Bible workbook for real life

Firebrands is designed to help teenagers connect biblical faith with the world they actually live in.

The workbook moves from foundational questions such as “What is truth?” and “Who is God?” into deeper questions about who we are, how we think, how we handle emotions, how we relate to others, how we deal with temptation and cultural pressure, and how we live out our faith.

The NOTW section brings these biblical foundations into everyday areas such as friendships, peer pressure, anxiety, bullying, body image, digital habits, health, fashion, academics and social responsibility.

Rather than simply providing information, the workbook encourages students to read, reflect, question, discuss, journal, pray and apply.

The goal is to help young people develop a faith that is not confined to church or the classroom, but shapes their identity, decisions, relationships, habits and engagement with the world around them.

Ideal for:
Church Sunday schools • Teen Bible studies • Christian schools • Youth groups • Homeschooling • Family discipleship • Children's and youth ministry programs
