Firebrands Workbook - Inters 1

Firebrands Workbook - Inters 1

Firebrands Workbook is a Bible-based discipleship and life-skills workbook created specifically for older children and teenagers. It is designed to move beyond simply learning Bible stories and help students think biblically, understand their identity, discover their purpose, make wise choices, and develop a Christ-centred worldview.

The workbook is divided into two distinct sections: MAIN Bible Topics and NOTW – Not Of This World.

The MAIN Bible Topics explore foundational Christian truths through the lens of Identity, Purpose, and Destiny, while the NOTW section addresses real-life issues and skills that teenagers encounter in relationships, emotional and mental wellbeing, social media, academics, career choices, communication, worldview, and missions.

MAIN BIBLE TOPICS

The first half of the workbook takes students deeper into foundational biblical themes, including:

The Bible & Absolute Truth • Biblical Calendar vs Gregorian Calendar • Who is God? • The Nature of God • Jesus' I AM Statements • The Cross & Gift of Salvation • The Fruit of the Spirit • Who Am I? • Spirit, Soul & Body • The Nature of the Church • What Is Ours in Christ? • Spiritual Warfare • The Armour of God • Spiritual Gifts • The Power of the Tongue • Prayer & Spiritual Discipline • The Kingdom of God • Making Disciples • Kingdom Rewards • Eternity & Destiny

Each MAIN topic includes:

  • Main Topic & Sub-topic – A structured progression through important biblical themes.
  • Verses to Remember – One Old Testament and one New Testament verse highlighting the central truth.
  • Related Reference Verses – Additional Scriptures for deeper personal study.
  • Main Lesson – Biblical teaching organised around the broader themes of Identity, Purpose, and Destiny.
  • Key Takeaways – Foundational truths for students to understand, remember, and apply.
  • Practical Applications – Small, practical steps for putting biblical principles into everyday life.
  • Word of the Week (WOW) – A key word or concept to reflect on throughout the week.
  • Home Devotionals – An activity-based devotional experience using journalling, thought-provoking statements, questionnaires, doodles, reflection and more.

ITW BUT NOTW!

“Be in the world, but not of the world.”

The second half of the workbook is NOTW – Not Of This World, a section built around real-life issues, conversations and skills relevant to teenagers.

Rather than simply telling students what to think, NOTW encourages them to examine the world around them and consider three perspectives:

World Says – What does the wider culture say about the issue?
I-Say – How might a teenager personally experience, think about, or respond to it?
God Says – What does the Bible teach about it?

NOTW topics include:

Family & Parents • Anger Management • Body Image • Fear & Rejection • Social Media • What You Watch • Choosing Friends • Exam Pressure & Expectations • Communication • Revivals & Missions

Each NOTW lesson includes:

  • NOTW Lesson – A practical exploration of a real-life issue, including relevant information and age-appropriate perspectives.
  • Quote of the Day – A thought-provoking quote connected to the topic.
  • Verses to Remember – One Old Testament and one New Testament verse to anchor the discussion in Scripture.
  • Related Reference Verses – Additional biblical references for further study.
  • Key Takeaways – Important truths to understand and carry forward.
  • Practical Applications – Small, realistic steps students can take.
  • NOTW Statement – A memorable, powerful statement designed to become a personal declaration or shareable hashtag.
  • Discussion Questions – Questions that encourage deeper reflection, conversation and critical thinking.
  • Home Devotional Activity – Journalling, reflection, questionnaires, doodles and other activities to continue the conversation throughout the week.

More than a Bible workbook

Firebrands is designed to help teenagers connect faith with real life.

It encourages students to ask meaningful questions, engage with Scripture, examine cultural ideas, understand who they are in Christ, develop healthy relationships, navigate digital culture, handle emotional and social challenges, and make decisions guided by biblical truth.

The goal is not simply to know more about the Bible, but to help young people develop a faith that influences how they think, what they value, how they live, and how they engage with the world around them.

Ideal for:
Church Sunday schools • Teen Bible studies • Christian schools • Youth groups • Homeschooling • Family discipleship • Children's and youth ministry programs
